The cost of not being there
Almost every problem foreign businesses have in Thailand traces back to the same root cause.
No one was there.
A supplier promises a delivery date and quietly slips it by three weeks, because no one is going to walk into their factory and ask why.
A shipment leaves the warehouse looking nothing like the samples, because no one inspected before loading.
A government appointment is delayed for the fourth time, because no one is in the room to politely insist.
Anything that operates in your name behaves more carefully when it knows someone is watching.
This is not a Thai problem. It is the same anywhere in the world. The difference is that for foreign businesses operating in Thailand, the gap between you and the situation is bigger: time zones, language, distance, and the cost of every flight. Most things that go wrong would not have gone wrong if someone you trusted had been there.
Representation closes that gap. You stay where you are. We are there.
What we represent you for
Representation is broad by definition, so the clearest way to explain it is to show what it looks like in practice. These are the situations we handle most often.
Supplier and factory visits
Pre-production inspection, mid-production check-in, pre-shipment quality verification, dispute resolution at the factory level. We go, we document, we report.
Pre-shipment inspection and loading supervision
We attend before the container ships, check quality, quantity and packaging against the agreed specification, and document the loading with photo and video.
Meeting attendance
A negotiation, a partner meeting, a government appointment, a bank visit. We attend in your name: leading the meeting if you want, supporting if you are joining by video, or observing and reporting if you prefer distance.
Buyer accompaniment
You are in Thailand for factory visits or meetings. We accompany you throughout, interpreting, representing your position, and reading what is said around the table. Priced at the day rates below.
Goods inspection and acceptance
Receiving deliveries on your behalf, checking against specification, documenting what arrived versus what was promised, and acknowledging or rejecting in writing.
Property and business oversight
If you own property, equipment, or a business in Thailand that someone else is managing, we run periodic in-person checks. Quietly, thoroughly, and with photo documentation.
Government and regulatory appointments
Ministry visits, BOI follow-ups, tax office meetings, immigration appointments, municipal interactions. Most are slow, in Thai, and require persistence. We handle them.
Dispute and conflict situations
When something has gone wrong with a partner, supplier, employee, or service provider, sending an outside representative often resolves what would otherwise require lawyers. Sometimes presence alone changes the dynamic.
Event and trade show attendance
Visiting trade shows on your behalf to meet potential suppliers, gather information, or represent your brand. Reports with photos, business cards, conversations, and follow-up recommendations.
How an engagement actually works
You reach out
A WhatsApp message, an email, a brief call with the situation. We confirm scope and turnaround quickly.
We agree scope and authority
What we are doing, what the deliverable looks like, and what authority you are giving us: purely observational, or signing for goods and acting as your principal within defined limits. Agreed in writing before we act.
The visit happens
We document throughout: photos, video where useful, written notes, and copies of any documents involved.
You receive a report
Same day for time-sensitive situations, within 48 hours otherwise. Structured: what we did, what happened, what we observed, what we recommend next, plus a call with Monika if you want to talk it through.
What you receive
- A written report for every engagement, structured for clarity
- Photo documentation: typically 10 to 30 images depending on the situation
- Short video walk-through where relevant: a factory floor, a property, a meeting room
- Copies of any physical documents we collected or signed on your behalf
- Monika's written assessment with recommended next moves
- A 15–30 minute follow-up call included for any non-routine engagement
You receive a structured monthly or quarterly summary across all activities, a record of operational continuity in Thailand that becomes more valuable the longer it runs.
Three ways to work with us
Single engagement
One specific situation that needs in-person attention. Scoped, priced, and delivered as a one-off.
Scheduled visits
Recurring engagements at a fixed cadence: monthly factory inspections, quarterly property checks, weekly supplier meetings during a production cycle.
Ongoing retainer
You have an active operation in Thailand and need responsive presence as situations arise. We are on call within agreed parameters.
When to engage us
Before, during, or after a shipment from a Thai supplier, and pre-shipment inspection is where the highest return sits
When a meeting in Thailand matters and you cannot attend in person
When you own or operate something in Thailand from abroad and need eyes on it periodically
When a situation has gone quiet, a payment is late, or a partner has stopped responding, and physical follow-up is what will move it
When you need to be represented at a Thai government office and the appointment is in Thai and inflexible on timing
We are built for the gap between “this needs someone there” and “it does not justify a flight, a hire, or a law firm.”
A Thai employee on payroll
Works if you have the ongoing volume to justify a full-time role and the management overhead that comes with it. For most foreign businesses that volume does not exist for years, and meanwhile every situation either gets ignored or costs a flight.
A freelance fixer or local contact
Handles ad-hoc tasks but rarely produces structured documentation, professional reporting, or consistent quality across engagements. You also do not know what you are getting until something goes wrong.
A Thai law firm or service agency
Can attend on your behalf, but typically at two to four times our rates and with significantly less flexibility on scope.
Flying in yourself
Works when the situation justifies the cost and the timing. Most situations do not. By the time the flight is booked, two weeks have passed and something else has gone wrong in the meantime.
Priced to the situation
All prices include travel, accommodation and local transport. We do not bill expenses separately. Where a situation requires something unusual, extended stays, specialist inspectors, urgent flights, we agree it with you in writing and quote it before we act.
Priced by how often we go and what each visit covers: monthly factory inspections, quarterly property checks, and the like.
Defined response times and engagement volume, for an active operation on the ground.
In context: a single mid-production factory inspection that catches a quality problem before shipment can save the cost of an entire rejected container. Most clients run the math once and never run it again.
Tell us what needs to happen
Describe what needs attention: a meeting, a factory visit, a delivery, a property check, an appointment, a situation. Tell us when and where. We will reply quickly with scope, timing, and price.
